Tour Plan
The two days desert tour journey is a unique desert short break through the Saharan landscapes of both the Hamada (stone desert) and Zagora desert (small dunes desert) the 2 days tour into the desert landscapes combines the highlights of Southern Morocco, from our first visits to Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, where an ancient Kasbah once held treasures of the silk route in desert oasis terrain, followed by a visit to the spectacular Agdez dates Market. A relaxing and highly scenic tour day with stunning views of this mystical land to the Anti Atlas and the Majestic Draa valley, the longest valley in Morocco, flowing south-east from the dam of Barrage el Mansour Eddahbi, around Ouarzazate across the anti atlas down to Zagora and Mhamid, before heading west towards the Atlantic near Tantan. about 1100Km long in total, 500 km flows much of the year, the last section will be dry and wild sand desert nature.
The most attractive and well-known part of the Draa Valley starts from Agdz to Zagora. The area has been inhabited for thousands of years, Today the Draa Valley is called the date basket of North Africa due to this stretch of river being lined with terraces of date palms and other crops watered by the river water through a wise system of irrigation channels.
Along with this part of the valley, you will find numerous fortified villages, occupied by villagers who work on the land and live a life that has not changed for centuries.
Our Desert 2 days trip makes our way through the far reaches of Morocco, where we encounter the magnificent Draa valley landscape. Morocco’s most famous Saharan valley is just breathtaking and transforming to the soul. We arrive at Zagora where we find our camels waiting, On foot or camelback you have the option to travel into the remote Small dunes until our Nomadic style camp hidden in the dunes. An evening sunset climb to one of the higher dunes is customarily followed by dinner and perhaps a campfire experience and Berber songs and storytelling can be arranged. dinner included. Accommodation in a desert camp. Temperatures normally 12-15c at night.
