Tour Plan
This morning after breakfast we set off in a comfortable private A/C Vehicle; for our circular 4 days journey through the Saharan landscapes of both the Hamada (stone desert) and Erg (dune desert). Our first visits include the cedar forest of the middle Atlas, chance to see macaque monkeys, the Interesting route takes you across the Ziz valley gorge and palms, Lunch in the middle of the road, arrive in Merzouga Erg Chebbi Sahara, Morocco’s most famous Saharan dune is just breathtaking and transforming to the soul. On foot or camelback, you have the option to travel into the remote dunes until our Nomadic style camp hidden in the dunes. An evening sunset climb to one of the higher dunes is customarily followed by a freshly cooked dinner and perhaps a campfire experience and Berber songs and storytelling can be arranged, and Overnight under the nomadic tent or Outside under the shouting star.
This morning after breakfast we have a final chance to climb the dunes before setting off on a scenic journey then brings us through southern Anti Atlas desert terrain where we may see nomadic camel herders crossing plains and witness the thriving date palm communities of this remote landscape – a truly fascinating day in cobra land! Visit Todgha gorge, 400 m high, attraction place for rock climbers, walk across the canyon, Our final destination, the valley of roses in the Dades valley. Cozy accommodation in a Luxury hotel with optional ‘Hammam’ bathhouse experience this evening.
we set off through the Saharan landscapes of both the Hamada (stone desert). Our first visits include Ait Benhaddou, where an ancient Kasbah once held treasures of the silk route in desert oasis terrain, followed by a visit to the spectacular to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, world heritage site where Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and more than 20 films were made.
Today we depart along with the old Caravan route along the Ounila valley, followed by a visit to Pasha Glaoui Kasbah and drive the breathtaking pass of Tiz-n-Tichka over the high Atlas to Marrakech (approx 4 hours). Our final day on tour and a chance to visit Marrakech and its famous souk (marketplace) with snake charmers, fortune tellers, acrobats and more. Time permitting we can also visit the Koutoubia Mosque and see ‘new’ Marrakech. Breakfast and lunch included only / you are free to explore the many fine eateries of Marrakech and the Djemaa El Fna square.
